Six children reading books

The Ipswich District Teacher Librarian Network covers primary schools in the Metropolitan Region in South East Queensland. The network meets once per school term, holds two workshop meetings, coordinates the Ipswich and Somerset/Lockyer Regions Readers Cup, supports the Kids Lit Quiz in Queensland, and organises professional development days open to any schools wishing to attend.

The network produces a book each year which gives teachers, teacher-librarians, and public librarians ideas on how to celebrate Children's Book Week. A Biennial Festival of Children's Literature StoryArts Festival Ipswich is also organised by the network. The Network is a major donor to the The Children's Book Council of Australia Awards Foundation and winner of the 2001 IASL/SIRS Commendation Award.
